Standards
All of the products and services offered by Educate-Global,
including the LMS, Third Party and Custom coursework, meet
the IMS and SCORM standards for e-learning. This means that
resources from around the world are interoperable which creates
a dynamic training resource for your organization.
Standards, or the lack of standards, is one of the most complicated
aspects of e-learning today. Since e-learning is new, starting
around 1996, industry standards have been developing in parallel
with the industry. The primary industry standard is known
as "IMS-SCORM". SCORM stands for Shareable Content
Object Reference Model and was developed by the Advanced Distributed
Learning (ADL) group which was created by the US Government
to oversee the standardization of e-learning. IMS stands for
Instructional Management Systems, a global consortium of
over 300 companies and universities such as Stanford, MIT,
University of Barcelona, Microsoft, Oracle, IBM, Cisco and
Educate-Global.
